Temporary Church Closure In December 2023 Storm waters flooded through the gates of St John the Baptist church, down the path and under the Church door. Several inches of water filled the building. The doors had to be locked to the public for several months. There was a huge clean-up operation needed, along with repairs to the pathway. With the position of the gate and the path as it is, we are not able to keep the waters out. From the end of October this year, the Church will be closed while the gateway is relocated and a resin bound, accessible pathway constructed. These changes will divert any future flood waters, keeping the structure of the Church building safe. We hope to have the Church open to Visitors by early December.
