St John the Baptist

Welcome to St John the Baptist Church.  This Church is open during the hours of daylight.  Please feel free to explore the Church and its grounds set in this beautiful location.

There are leaflets as you enter the Church which give information on the Church as well as the neighbouring Castle.

There are occasional services, concerts and celebrations at St John’s throughout the year. Always creating the perfect ambience with its shelter, it’s beautiful location and views across the Vale of the Edlingham Burn towards the Viaduct built in 1885 for the Alnwick to Cornhill line.

Enjoy a walk around the Church, explore the Castle, and further afield there are paths signed if you choose to explore.

St John the Baptist Church is part of the Whittingham, Edlingham and Bolton Parish. These Villages each have very unique historical Churches behind which are equally enthralling stories.
