Growing in Jesus

Growing in Jesus is a short, welcoming course for anyone who wants to explore what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.

Across six weekly sessions, we will think together about the heart of Christian faith: loving God, loving our neighbour, learning to pray, reading the Bible, and allowing Jesus to shape the whole of our lives.

The course is relaxed and practical, with space for questions, conversation and reflection. It is suitable for those who are new to faith, returning to church, recently baptised or confirmed, or simply wanting to grow deeper as a Christian.

Wednesdays, 7–8pm
St Mary’s, Longframlington
3 June – 8 July

All are welcome. No previous knowledge or experience is needed.

St John the Baptist

Temporary Church Closure

From the end of October 2025, St John the Baptist Church will be closed to the Public whilst external building works and access improvements are undertaken.

These changes will divert any future flood waters, keeping the structure of the Church building safe.

We hope to have all works completed and the Church re-opened by early December.

Thank you for your patience over this period and thank you to all of those supporting this project, Funders, Designers, Community and Volunteers.

Welcome to St John the Baptist Church.  This Church is open during the hours of daylight.  Please feel free to explore the Church and its grounds set in this beautiful location.

There are leaflets as you enter the Church which give information on the Church as well as the neighbouring Castle.

There are occasional services, concerts and celebrations at St John’s throughout the year. Always creating the perfect ambience with its shelter, it’s beautiful location and views across the Vale of the Edlingham Burn towards the Viaduct built in 1885 for the Alnwick to Cornhill line.

Enjoy a walk around the Church, explore the Castle, and further afield there are paths signed if you choose to explore.

St John the Baptist Church is part of the Whittingham, Edlingham and Bolton Parish. These Villages each have very unique historical Churches behind which are equally enthralling stories.
