Daily Prayer

Prayer is a central part of our faith. Prayer takes many forms, from those spoken in Sunday worship to silent meditation. All prayers are that space where we allow ourselves to pay full attention to presence of God in our lives, to respond to that presence and to let our barriers drop and be open to God's acceptance of who we are and who we can be.

The Church of England follows a regular pattern of prayer known as Morning and Evening Prayer. This pattern immerses us in reading daily sections of the Old Testament, Psalms and New Testament with space for responding in prayer, to bring whatever we are dealing with before God.

Each our churches holds a space for Morning Prayer, Monday to Thursday which is advertised on our calendars and all are welcome. The Church of England also has a free app for Daily Prayer if you wish to download and follow the church's pattern of worship at your own pace.

There is also a shorter version of Morning and Evening Prayer called Time to Pray for a shorter introduction to a regular pattern of prayer.
