Seasonal music and readings for Christmas with the Cathedral choir. Join in well known carols alongside staff from North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, and bring presents for the Giving Tree initiative to ensure that children who wouldn’t otherwise get a Christmas gift have something to celebrate. All are welcome.

Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols will be sung by the upper voices of the cathedral choir, and it is a modern setting of some very old English carols, set as a sequence telling the Christmas story.

Family-friendly service for all ages. On the shortest day of the year, light a candle to welcome the birth of Christ the Light of the World.

We begin in Cathedral Square with a retelling of the Nativity story (and hopefully real donkeys!) before heading to the Cathedral for the ever popular Christingle service.
