We are delighted to have celebrated the Confirmation of our members of four Benefice at a service in St. George's church in Evenley.

Confirmation is when an individual, having been Baptised, comes to make (or Confirm) the vows made at Baptism for themselves. This usually involves some discussions and meetings beforehand, and a chance to reflect on faith, life, and understanding. Anyone who has been Baptised my be Confirmed, and it is tradition that following Confirmation a person may begin to receive Communion.

We had four people from our Benefice Confirmed this year, and welcomed in others from neighbouring Benefices. Bishop Jonathan Meyrick, who is an Honorary Assistant Bishop in Peterborough Diocese, led the service and Confirmed our candidates. We welcomed over 100 adults, plus many children to this service, and it was a wonderful celebration.

A huge thank you to our Churchwardens and volunteers, to our Benefice Choir and our Organist, and to our young Crucifer who took up the job for the first time and did excellently.

During his sermon Bishop Meyrick, who once appeared on Stars in their Eyes singing 'Wild Thing', sang 'Words' by the Bee Gees.

For all this and more, do make sure you attend our services, you never know what you will find.

We are delighted to have welcomed people from Croughton, Farthinghoe, and Evenley to be Confirmed at this service.
