Burials in St Andrew's Churchyard

Who is entitled to burial space at St Andrew's?

(1) Anyone who resides in the ecclesiastical parish. Our church serves the civic Parish of Harlestone (Upper & Lower Harlestone) and the civic Parish of Harlestone Manor and Loxton's Field. It also includes and serves the new homes being currently built between Harlestone Manor and the Parish of Harpole

(2) Anyone who dies in the ecclesiastical Parish of St Andrew's

(3) Anyone who is on the Electoral Roll of the church - a regular communicant of the Church of England who attends church

If I want to be buried at St Andrew's, where will my grave be?

Anyone who fulfils the criteria above, whilst gravespace remains, would be buried in the next available grave. There are two rows of graves currently being formed to the north-west of the church - the far side to the entrance, tower end. Unless gravespace has been reserved (see below), the next available space would be allocated at the time of death. At St Andrew's, it is possible to dig a grave of double depth

What if I want to reserve a 'plot'?

It is possible to reserve gravespace, subject to approval of the Rector and PCC and settlement of the standard fees. This allows a plot to be allocated, marked and recorded and reserved for when needed. The current reserved spaces are marked with a small stone in the ground with the letters RES. For information on the procedures, entitlement, fees and inevitable forms, please contact The Rector
