Christian Aid Week

Occurring
for 7 days, 1 hour
Venue
St Rumbald
Address
Church Lane Stoke Doyle Peterborough, PE8 5TH, United Kingdom

Last year Christian Aid Week focused on raising money to transform lives
across Malawi supporting people to rebuild their lives after Tropical Storm
Ana. The generosity of the British public makes incredible things possible
and helps people around the world to push back against the inhumanity of
poverty.

This year Christian Aid’s focus is on Guatemala and the impact climate
change is having on the farmers there. Gruelling heatwaves and extreme
weather are destroying farms and livelihoods.

We shall be distributing as many envelopes as we can this year as usual and
would welcome any offers of help in the villages of Aldwincle, Titchmarsh,
Clopton and Thorpe Waterville. Please do contact me if you are interested
in helping at all with this.

I have also managed to arrange a date for a farm trailer ride in aid of the
charity which I hope you will support as an alternative to the normal way
of giving. This farm trip will be ‘free’ but donations would be gratefully
received! We will provide tea and cake afterwards and all are very
welcome to come and see what we do on the farm. We run a mixed
farming enterprise with sheep, cattle and arable crops with a special
interest in wildlife and the environment.

The date for this is Sunday 8th June. Please contact John Gent on either 07850 085413 or email
[email protected] to book yourself in as places on the trailer may be
limited.

Many thanks, Dawn Gent, Oundle Christian Aid Committee
