Maundy Thursday The Watch

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Harbour Church - All Saints
Address
All Saints Church 334 Commercial Road Portsmouth, PO1 4BT, United Kingdom

You are invited to stay for The Watch, a period of silent, prayerful presence following the Maundy Thursday service. This tradition responds to Jesus’ poignant question in the Garden of Gethsemane: "Could you not keep watch with me for one hour?" It is a time for adoration in the stillness of the darkened church, allowing you to sit with the gravity of the night and simply "be" with Christ before the events of Good Friday unfold. This transition from the communal meal to the solitary trial of the Cross offers a powerful space for personal reflection.

Our Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
