The Patrons, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Bishop of Rochester and Lord de l’Isle, are pleased to announce that The Revd Lisa Cornell will be the next Rector of Penshurst, Fordcombe and the Chiddingstone Churches.

Lisa is the Assistant Curate in Yalding, Laddingford and Collier Street.  She was ordained in 2018 having previously served as a Licenced Lay Minister in the Parish of St Mary, Kippington in Sevenoaks.  Lisa grew up locally and graduated from the University of Hull in 1990.  She worked as a teacher of Geography for 25 years.  She studied for ordination at St Augustine’s College of Theology and was awarded a degree from Durham University in 2018.  She has just completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Theology, Mission and Ministry.

Lisa has twin daughters born in 2001.  Sophie has just completed her second year at Homerton College, Cambridge where she is studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences.  Lizzie plans to study Biomedical Sciences at King’s College London from September.

Lisa is Padre to 2520 Tonbridge Squadron ATC and works on the team of duty priests at St Paul’s Cathedral.  She enjoys reading detective novels, cryptic crosswords, and dog walks, but not all at the same time!

Lisa is really looking forward to taking up this post and to getting to know everyone.  She is likely to be instituted and inducted in September, although this is entirely dependent upon Covid-19 restrictions.  She would very much appreciate your prayers at this time.
