A pattern of prayer involving a series of meditations on some aspects or mysteries of the life of Jesus and his mother Mary.
The Joyful Mysteries - Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, Presentation in the temple and Finding the Temple.
The Sorrowful Mysteries - The agony of Jesus in the garden, the scourging of Jesus, crowning with thorns, carrying the cross and the crucifixion,
The Glorious Mysteries - Resurrection of Jesus, Ascension of Jesus, Descent of the Holy Spirit, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven.
The Light Mysteries - Baptism of Jesus, the wedding at Cana, the declaration of the Kingdom of God, the Transfiguration and the institution of the Eucharist.
The Lord's Prayer. the Hail Mary, the Glory be are all you need to know, the Apostles Creed would be a bonus. Whatever, you will soon pick it up, a set of prayer beads can be provided.

Welcome to anyone who has taken the trouble to look us up. You are very welcome at all of our services and events either here at St. Luke's or at the parish church of St. Leonard and St. Jude, Barnsley Road, Scawsby. St. Luke's is what we call our daughter church, a place of mission and we hope a place to grow the Christian faith in Scawthorpe.
