All ages come together for our Family Communion service. The style of service is ‘contemporary liturgical’. That means there is a mix of hymns and contemporary worship songs and some words that we join in together (following Order One for Holy Communion from Common Worship – the Church of England’s published forms of service since the year 2000).
The form of this service is still evolving as we continue on our journey of bringing two quite different congregations together. We’d love you to be part of the conversation as we work out what our worshipping life will look like.
At present, the service includes story time (where a member of the congregation shares a story from the Bible in an informal way), and some other ways to engage with the Bible, often including a talk for those who want to listen . You can sit in chairs near the front, or on sofas a bit further back. There’s also a more enclosed space at the back, equipped with toys for anyone who needs that. We’re aiming to make this service accessible to all, whatever their needs. This is a church where everyone can belong if they want to, or even just turn up and participate. Light refreshments are available.
We share Holy Communion around a small communion table near the front.

On these Sundays, our worship focuses on giving us space to reflect on the readings set for the day, so doesn’t include a celebration of Holy Communion. The style is contemporary or liturgical, with a mix of hymns and worship songs. It is on the first Sunday of the month at this service that we offer Holy Baptism.

Join us for our monthly family messy worship. There will be craft, a song and a story. Followed by a bring and share meal (bring a dish; big or small, sweet or savoury). This event is on for two hours.
