Meeting of the Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham for the United Benefice of St Helen, Athersley and St John the Evangelist, Carlton.

The Cell will aim to meet every six weeks, normally on a Thursday at 5.30pm. (Where possible please bring a Walsingham Manual). From session to session, The Cell will hold a variety of different devotions and activities, including, eg, Mass, the Rosary, Bible Study, intercessions, meditation by a speaker, Benediction, etc, and so on.

Each Cell meeting would normally last around 30-45mins.

Provisional Future 2025 dates of the Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham for St Helen, Athersley & St John Carlton include: Thursday 16th January 2025, Thursday 6th March 2025, Thursday 10th April 2025, Thursday 22nd May 2025, Thursday 3rd July 2025, Thursday 2nd October 2025, Thursday 13th November 2025. Meeting of the newly re-introduced Barnsley Cell of The Society of Mary.

The Society of Mary, whilst being one of the Catholic Societies of the Church of England, has members in churches and countries all over the world.

The objects of the Society are:
to love and honour Mary.
to spread devotion to her in reparation for past neglect and misunderstanding and in the cause of Christian Unity
to take Mary as a model in purity, personal relationships, and family life.

The Meeting is to re-introduce the Barnsley Cell of The Society of Mary, aiming to hold regular Cell Meetings around the Barnsley Area, with members from churches within the Diocese of Leeds and the Diocese of Sheffield.
