St Peter's Church

On the morning of Thursday 19th June 2014, the 800 year old St Peter’s Church in Ropley was almost completely destroyed in a catastrophic fire. The devastation was extensive, almost nothing of the interior or roof has survived – even the contents of the church safe were exposed to such heat that only fragments of the register survived.

The rebuilt St Peter's was re-opened in 2022. There is a rudimentary car park behind (north of) the church - the entrance to this is off Hale Close, first on the right downhill from St Peter's. Please note that this car park is currently (Jan 2026) poorly surfaced and can get very muddy in wet weather. It is also not very large and for popular events is likely to be full. To avoid inconveniencing local residents, please do not park in the road outside the church, but use the Parish Hall car park for overflow parking. Ropley Parish Hall is further down Church Street past Hale Close.
