A quiet, reflective communion service for Maundy Thursday
Throughout Lent 2026 we will be following the Church of England’s theme Draw Near: Life-giving habits for Lent. This year’s resources will help us to think about a ‘rhythm of life’ – habits and patterns which help us grow as disciples of Christ day by day, especially as we prepare to celebrate the great mystery of God’s saving love at Easter. The Lent Course will begin on Ash Wednesday, 18th February, and will run for seven weeks during the whole of Lent. There are three groups to choose from:
Wednesday mornings in church at 10.45am (after our midweek Communion service)
Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm
Thursday evenings at 7.30pm

An hour of music and meditation to mark Good Friday
A simple Communion service, with the children normally remaining throughout the service.
Family Communion and baptisms this Sunday - come to celebrate that Christ has risen!
Traditional choral evensong, followed by cheese and wine.
We worship together for the first time as a new parish (there will be no other services in the parish that day).
The service will be followed by a Special Parochial Church Meeting at 12pm, when we elect our new Churchwardens and PCC - do be there to have your say.
We join together in the hall at St Katharine’s at 12.30pm for a bring and share lunch.
The Revd Simon Newham, vicar of Brockenhurst and acting Archdeacon of Bournemouth, will be leading us in a day of worship and seeking vision for the new parish.
There will be teaching, discussion and discernment around how we can be the church we need to be to build for God’s kingdom here in Southbourne.
We will be considering this around the planes of ‘In’ ‘Up’ and ‘Out’, thinking of relationships amongst ourselves, with God and his world. We will hopefully emerge with a well-rounded or triangular vision of who we’re called to be as a church. The outcomes of this day will significantly shape what we say ‘yes’ to over the next few years.
Bring a packed lunch, drinks will be provided.
Informal activities and crafts for all young people (and their parents if they wish) in the upper hall.
Our Holy Communion service takes place at the same time in the main church building.

This much-anticipated play gets its debut, thanks to the combined efforts of a number of people across the parish. Written by a parishioner, this short play includes actors and singers from across the parish. Free event and refreshments.
Catherine Clarke is a writer and academic, and will be reading from her latest book 'A History of England in 25 Poems'. The book has been a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week and a Times Book of the Week, and more, so prepare to be enthralled on this illuminating journey through England's history.
With musical interludes with Rebecca Newton and Ellen Davis, it's bound to be a captivating evening in the beautiful All Saints' Church.
Refreshments will be available in the interval.
