We’ve been talking about the planned joining of the parishes of Freemantle and Millbrook for some time and a lot of work has been going on including a public consultation. We can now confirm that with effect from 1st May 2023 the benefice of Christ Church Freemantle, and the benefice of Millbrook shall be united to create a new benefice which shall be named The Benefice of Freemantle with Millbrook.
Christ Church, Freemantle shall be the parish church of the new benefice and Holy Trinity, Millbrook will no longer be a parish church. As you may be aware, Holy Trinity hasn’t been used for Church of England services for over two years now and a separate process for selling it to another church community is currently taking place. Our parish boundaries will change to take in the current Millbrook parish.
