It was a joy to welcome back to our ancient church the talented Marysingers. A group of eight singers and conductor , from Stroud, including a number of our own local singers. We enjoyed a programme of unaccompanied sacred music which crossed many European frontiers and spanned several centuries: English music by Byrd and Purcell, music of the Spanish Renaissance and from Liechtenstein and a particularly beautiful and haunting hymn to the Virgin from Kyiv.
