As a new year progresses, you are warmly invited to pause… to breathe… to listen.
Soul Sanctuary returns at the end of January, offering a gentle, Taizé-inspired space to seek the presence and movement of the Holy Spirit. The church will be softly lit by candlelight; music will be simple and prayerful; short readings and moments of silence will open our hearts to God. In this quiet, we make room for the Spirit to meet us - to comfort, renew, guide and gently transform.
January can feel raw, uncertain or even intimidating. This 50–60 minutes of stillness invites us to lay down striving and to travel
deeper into the year, grounded in God’s presence. We come not with answers, but with openness - attentive to the Spirit’s whisper, receptive to fresh life, courage and hope. As we still ourselves before God, the Holy Spirit draws us deeper: into peace, into trust, into a renewed awareness that we are held and we are loved.
This space is absolutely for everyone. Whether you are deeply root-ed and confident, exploring faith for the first time, returning after a long absence, feeling unsure, weary or just curious - you are most welcome. There is no expectation to perform, act in a certain way, or have the right words. This is also a space where silence is honoured. You don’t need to talk, introduce yourself, or engage with others unless you want to. You are free to sit quietly, listen, pray, and simply be still. There is no pressure and no spotlight — just a shared peace, held together in God’s presence. Whether you come longing for connection or simply needing rest, Soul Sanctuary offers room to be exactly as you are.
So, wherever you find yourself at the start of this year, simply come. Come to rest and come to be open to the Spirit - and as you do this, allow yourself to be held in God’s warm and loving embrace. – who wouldn’t want that? For more information, please contact Rob Quarton at [email protected].
