Three Hours at the Cross

Occurring
for 3 hours
Venue
Christ Church, Matchborough
Address
Ryton Close Matchborough, B98 0EW, United Kingdom

On Good Friday we gather for Three Hours at the Cross, a quiet and meaningful space to reflect on Jesus’ journey to Calvary. The time is split into three one‑hour blocks, and you’re welcome to stay for all of it or come for the hour that suits you. The first two hours offer simple, reflective space to ponder the Cross—using art, music, and Scripture to help us slow down and sit with the weight and wonder of the story. In the third hour we come together as a gathered community to share Communion, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice and the hope it brings to our lives and our neighbourhood.

Safeguarding

Christ Church Matchborough, in the parish of Ipsley, is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Worcester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [Phil Williams] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [Hilary Higton]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
