Our worship style is recognisably "high church," enhanced by colour, movement, candlelight, music and often incense, with an emphasis on the Sacraments. "O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, bow down before him, his glory proclaim; with gold of obedience and incense of lowliness, kneel and adore him - the Lord is his name."

Most Sundays, there is a quiet service of Evening Prayer on Zoom at 6.00pm.
Whenever a special service (such as Taizé, Wholeness and Healing, Memorial or Christingle) takes place on a Sunday afternoon, it is listed separately on this webpage, and on those Sundays there is no 6.00pm Evening Prayer.

Eucharist/Holy Communion
The Parish of Amblecote and the Team Parish of Wordsley have more in common than the fact that each has a church dedicated to the Holy Trinity. They are located at opposite ends of the so-called Crystal Mile which celebrates the key sites and events that shaped the area’s glassmaking industry, and generations of glass makers have found their final resting place in the two churchyards.
Our shared parish border runs up Brettell Lane. The parish of Wordsley (which includes the congregation of St Mary & St Francis with St Clare, Lawnswood) was part of the old Kingswinford Deanery, whilst Amblecote belonged to Stourbridge Deanery. Then in 2021 some reorganisation of the administrative districts of the Diocese of Worcester led to the merger of the old Dudley, Kingswinford and Stourbridge Deaneries , and the two parishes came together within the new atedGreater Dudley Deanery. This has opened up exciting opportunities for collaborative working.
At this service, Rev. Lyn Rowson (Acting Rector of Wordsley) and Rev. Alan Williams (Vicar of Amblecote) will each be licensed as Assistant Priest in the other's parish, which will enable more sharing of ministry and closer cooperation with fewer administrative restrictions.
Everyone is invited to attend. Please stay behind after the service for refreshments and a chance to meet and talk with people from all three churches!
(And if you're still wondering why our two neighbouring parishes should have churches with the same dedication, it's due to another historical boundary change! At the time they were consecrated, Wordsley and Amblecote churches were in different dioceses and therefore came under separate jurisdictions. Kingswinford, Wordsley, Himley and Sedgley, along with Christ Church, Coseley, all used to belong to Lichfield Diocese but were transferred to Worcester as part of a realignment of diocesan boundaries in the Black Country area in 1994. Up until that date, Brettell Lane was not just the parish boundary but also the diocesan boundary.)

This reminds us of both our human mortality and the need for the rebuilding of the relationship between ourselves and God our Creator which has been broken by our sin.
This service replaces the regular Wednesday Said Mass at 9.30am.

At the start of Holy Week we remember Christ's entry into Jerusalem.
The service begins at 9.45am in the church hall with the Palm Liturgy, then we process to the church for Mass.
The Chrism (meaning anointing) Eucharist is held every year in Holy Week, when the Bishop invites all the ministers of the Diocese - ordained and lay - to come together to renew their ministerial vows. It is also the occasion when the oils are blessed for use throughout the Diocese in baptism, confirmation, ordination, and the anointing of the sick.

Commemorating the last meal Jesus ate with his friends before his death, at which he instituted the sacrament of Holy Communion.
After the service, you are invited to stay for a simple lunch of soup and a roll.
Maundy Thursday is the day when Christians remember Jesus sharing the Last Supper with his disciples before his death on Good Friday. It gets its name from the Latin word 'mandare', from which we get the word 'command'. Christians remember Jesus's command: "Love one another as I have loved you."
At the Last Supper Jesus washed his disciples' feet - an action which is recreated during this Mass to remind everyone present that we should serve one another with humility.
After all who wish to receive Holy Communion have done so, the remaining consecrated elements are placed in the beautiful Garden of Repose which has been created on the side altar. The sanctuary and high altar are stripped bare, the lights are dimmed, and the vigil begins. This is a time of silent prayer interspersed with Bible readings, remembering Christ's mental agony as he faced his approaching death. Although the vigil continues until midnight, you may leave at any time (please go out in silence).
Organised by Churches Together in Stourbridge. Christians of all denominations walk together in witness to Jesus's death on the cross for our redemption. The procession sets off at 10.00am from the Catholic Church of Our Lady and All Saints (on the Ring Road opposite Aldi) and makes its way via the High Street to the clock tower, where a short service of reflection and prayer is held.
A service of readings and prayers with an address, reflecting on the crucifixion and death of Jesus
In keeping with the solemnity of Good Friday, it has been the practice of the Church since earliest times not to celebrate Mass on this day. Following readings and prayers at the foot of the cross, Holy Communion is taken from the Sacrament which was previously consecrated and set apart on Maundy Thursday.

This service is a real experience of passing from darkness to light, offering hope to all.
From earliest times Christians have gathered through the night of Easter to recall the story of God’s saving work, from the creation of the world through to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Easter Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Holy Saturday, and leads us into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
The congregation moves outside for the lighting of the Easter fire, from which the Easter candle is lit. A joyful procession returns into the now brightly lit church; the Exsultet - an ancient hymn of triumph and rejoicing - is sung; the Easter Gospel is proclaimed with joy and splendour; and the First Mass of Easter is celebrated with music, flowers, bells, colours and many shouts of "Alleluia! Christ is risen!"
