Work carried out at the end of April 2025 has temporarily made the roof and guttering waterproof. This is to prevent water ingress into the inside of the building. An investigation was also done to look at any potential damage to internal plaster work. The plan is to let any damp areas naturally dry out, before commencing work in 2026. Hopefully we will be able to see what funding grants are available during the spring of this year. You may have noticed that the gates at the east end of the churchyard have been removed back in the autumn of 2025, and the brick pillars lowered. This was due to loose sandstone blocks and plinths, and were considered dangerous. The light "arch" has also been removed. At some stage, these might be replaced, however, we kind of quite like them as they are! Please tell us your thoughts? We will keep you posted!Feb 21, 2026.
