Loud, heartfelt, hilarious and utterly infectious, Kimber’s Men deliver a live show that has audiences singing along within minutes.

KIMBER’S MEN have been captivating audiences with their powerful harmonies, rousing sea shanties and unmistakable humour since forming in 2001. Over the past two decades they have become one of the UK’s most respected and entertaining shanty groups, performing at folk and shanty festivals across the country — from Portsoy to Jersey, and from Liverpool to Harwich.

Internationally renowned, Kimber’s Men are regular and much-loved performers at major maritime festivals throughout Europe and Scandinavia, with repeat invitations to events in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Ireland, Greece, Denmark and Norway. In 2019 they were chosen to headline the first ever shanty festival in Australia, touring the south and west coasts from Albany to Fremantle — a testament to their international reputation. They are now keen to tour the USA and Canada following numerous invitations.

The group have appeared twice on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and featured on BBC Two and BBC Four’s Sea Songs with Gareth Malone, bringing traditional shanties to a wide audience.

Adding real authenticity, Kimber’s Men have spent many years crewing the Tall Ship Stavros S Niarchos as deckhands and resident shantymen — although, as they happily admit on stage, Neil is the only true sailor.

Come and hear Kimber's Men performing live in the brilliant surroundings of St Nicholas', Beverley. Tickets £18.

As ever, we guarantee a warm welcome, a reasonably priced licensed bar, serving craft ale, good wine and non-alcoholic options - as well as a night of great music.

St Nicholas' Church

We are a growing, generous and welcoming Anglican church in Beverley, worshipping God in our services and by loving and serving our community.

We are part of the Christian story of good news that God the Father's love for the world was shown in Jesus. God's Spirit teaches that story in the Bible, in sharing communion, in prayer and in our everyday lives. Our worship is a mix of liturgy and informality, with both contemporary and more traditional music.
