Retirement

Notices Church_news

Rev Cannon David Walker retired from the Parish of St Michael's after almost 40 Years. He has seen children he baptised grow up and marry with children of their own. He became an asset to the local community and will be sadly missed.

This leaves the People of St Michael's with a massive problem, how to replace someone like David. During the interregnum our Sunday services are being covered by local Clergy and we really thank them for covering the period before the  appointment   of our next Incumbent. The Parishioners are all pulling together to make sure that life in the parish carries on as normal. Baptisms,Weddings and Funerals can still be arranged by contacting the Parish office and talking to the Church wardens.

The PCC are meeting, praying and discussing how next to appoint a priest to the parish and are being supported by members of the deanery staff. The PCC are looking forward to the next stages and meeting with potential candidates to the ministry in the parish.

What we do need and earnestly as is your support through prayers for the Parish. The PCC and ministers. Ask God for his blessing for the continued work in the parish and on David as he takes a well earned retirement.
