West End Ampleforth York Approaching from the East (Oswaldkirk) or South off the B1257, proceed West along the Main Street in Ampleforth village. Go past the White Swan Pub and Station Road then turn left down the small Lane leading to the Church., YO62 4DU

The Northern Ryedale Deanery, of which the Parish of Helmsley and the Benefice of Upper Ryedale form a part, will celebrate the Feast of the Ascension together at St Hilda's Church, Ampleforth.

Welcome to this hidden gem of a church - near the red telephone box, along the grassy track and behind the copse of trees!

Enter, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, remembering the many who have worshipped here and continue to come here to pray and meditate in this special place.  

The church is on the Temple Moore Trail and was celebrated in a poem by John Betjeman.
