St Aidan, Gillamoor

St Aidan's Church serves the villages of Gillamoor and Fadmoor, as well as the scattered community between the northern edge of Kirkbymoorside and the huge open spaces of Bransdale and Farndale.

St Aidan's usually hosts two services a month - as well as occasional events for Gillamoor Church of England Primary School - but it's always open by day and welcomes many hundreds of annual visitors to this lovely part of Yorkshire.

Safeguarding

Our Church is committed to Safeguarding - to keeping all children, young people and adults at risk safe and free from harm. We have a growing congregation and an increasing number of visitors and this commitment is reaffirmed annually by the Parochial Church Council (PCC).

The PCC has approved our safeguarding policy and we have training, policies and procedures in place for all elected and appointed officers to:

- promote a safe environment and culture to prevent all abuse where we can,
- encourage us to learn more about safeguarding and how we can get involved,
- safely recruit and support those working with children and young people and vulnerable adults,
- respond to and promptly report safeguarding concerns,
- care pastorally for those who have experienced or been affected by abuse,
- care pastorally for anyone who may pose a risk to others.

The PCC has appointed Sarah Andrews as Parish Safeguarding Officer; she and our Vicar, the Revd Paul Sunderland, are the people in the Parish to speak to about any safeguarding concerns you may have.
