We gather together as God's people, to sing hymns and songs, hear God's word read and preached, pray for each other, and receive holy communion. Afterwards there is tea and coffee.
On Sunday Mornings during the colder months we meet at St Chad’s only. During the warmer months (from about March to October) we alternate between St Oswalds and St Chads
A service for families with school aged children. We all hear stories from the bible, sing songs, pray together, do crafts and other activities, before finishing with tea and toast.
This service is only for those who come with school aged children. Parents, grandparents, & carers all stay and join in with the worship.
Bring your children (and yourself) with whatever fancy dress costume your children have, and we will make up a nativity performance, that's as faithful to the bible story as possible with as many random costumes as we have. Don't have a costume? We can lend you some bits!
Come and sing carols around a campfire with a live brass band in the St Oswald's & Genesis Project Church Garden. There's hot drinks and hot dogs and familiar carols.
An informal carol service with a live band and lively singing. Come and sing and hear a message of joy and hope at Christmas time.
A Christmas Eve Christingle Service. Come and make a Christingle and hear the Christmas Story. Especially suitable for primary school aged children.
A midnight service to begin the Christmas celebrations. Worship, hear God's word speak, and share communion with each other. The church will be open from 11pm, and the service will start at 11.30pm
A short informal service to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Bring a present to show off if you want. We'll sing together, hear a short message, and share communion.
