You are most welcome to join us for Holy Communion with the traditional Ashing on Ash Wednesday at St. Thomas' Glaisdale at 5:00 p.m.

This service will be quieter with space for reflection and contemplation without singing of hymns.

Join us in the beautiful St Thomas’ Church for a special time of prayer using meditations and chants from the Taizé tradition. No need to be able to sing and no prior experience needed. For further information email:

Join us for '1, 2, 3 Jesus and Me' 3.30 for 3.45 pm at St Hilda's Church, Egton.
The service is for everybody but designed to be child friendly. There'll be refreshments at 3.30 pm and the service will start at 3.45 pm. If you're running late, you can take your refreshments to where you're sitting. There'll be lots of singing, songs with actions, a short Bible story followed by a chat about it and prayers. We won't expect children to sit still, be perfectly quiet or not to fidget. Babies can cry and if they're hungry be fed. We ask that all children are accompanied by an adult please.

The language used by the church and occasionally by us all, to discuss faith, religion or belief can often be confusing, misinterpreted and for some alienating. The purpose of this small group is to create a space where language and concepts can be explored safely, and greater insight developed. The group meets every two weeks and is open to all, of faith and no faith. A space to listen, share and question.

A special monthly service using the traditional and timeless words from the Book of Common Prayer alongside periods of silence, with space for prayer and quiet reflection.

At this special meeting we’ll build on all the energy we’ve generated and hard work we’ve put in across Middle Esk Moor over the two years. Each of our teams, including people from across our villages, are beginning to take the load off our four parochial church councils (PCCs) by working collaboratively on common priorities.
