About Us

Hope Church Islington is a diverse and welcoming community based at St Mary Magdalene Church in the centre of the Borough of Islington.

As we work to articulate our vision, we know that at it’s heart, we hope that we might fully grow into our name, that we would know the living Hope that we have in Christ, and that through Him we might be Hope to the community of Islington in the following ways:

- Bringing healing and wholeness to the people of our parish

- Supporting the vulnerable, oppressed and voiceless in our midst

- Providing safe and inclusive spaces for the diverse community that we are a part of

We believe that the atoning work of God in the world is fundamentally practical, and we long for the people of our parish to be reconnected to their Creator and the creation, to themselves and to others.

The goal of the Diocese of London in the next 10 years is for every Londoner to encounter the love of God in Christ. At Hope, we understand this encounter as one of wholeness, of healing, of balance, of rhythm, and of peace and, as we consider our part in fulfilling this goal, it is clear that our response needs to be as intensely practical, embodied, and human as the people that we aim to reach.

We run a number of activities and various courses. Plus there’s a regular programme of bigger events, socials and community projects in the pipeline. Our Community Groups are our way of growing deeper in friendship, fellowship and discipleship at Hope Church. Find out more here.

On Sundays we meet at 11am, our service includes contemporary worship, teaching and ministry - as well as Hope Kids, Godly Play and Youth. Please do join us at one of our services in the near future.

As and when you wish to get involved there’ll be a wide variety of opportunities to join in.

So come and explore how you could become part of an exciting story, it’s fun, it’s significant, it’s fulfilling and potentially life-changing.

Come find Hope. Come find Home.
