The lead covering the church roof was stolen in 2015 and the reinforced felt covering that replaced it temporarily has come to the end of its usefulness. In a hard rain, the roof leaks badly. The PCC is working closely with architects to replace the roof covering with stainless steel in 2026, which will cost approximately 100,000 pounds. As of 1st November, 2025, we have raised 30,000 pounds towards this and are applying to charities for donations and are also planning exciting fund raising events. Donations from individuals will make all the difference in achieving our goal, to protect the roof and interior of the church from decay and ensure a safe, sound structure for future generations.
