The Benefice of Haughley with Wetherden and Stowupland Job Vacancy Children & Families Worker Part-time 20 hrs per month

The three Anglican parishes of Haughley, Wetherden and Stowupland, are creating a part-time, self-employed Children and Families Worker post to pioneer work with children and families. This is an exciting and varied role which is part of our vision to grow younger.

We are now pleased to be able to inform you that Mrs Jo Ling has been appointed the part-time Children and Families Worker for our benefice.

Jo, as you maybe aware, lives in Haughley and has huge experience with children and families having been the Head of Crawford's Primary School for several years. She will bring knowledge, experience and charisma to the job. At present Jo is training on the Diocesan Children’s Ministry Essentials Course. She will start work in July.

Start date: July 2026 (Please note: July and August will be preparatory months. The Sunday afternoon activities will not begin until September).

In particular, the Children and Families Worker will create and develop a Sunday afternoon provision which will specifically appeal to children, parents/carers.

This provision will involve the preparation and delivery of an activity/service (as part of an annual programme) which will be replicated in each parish each month. Hence the Worker will be required to work three Sunday afternoons per month in each of the three parishes with the additional hours worked flexibly to prepare for the sessions.
