Baptism is a great way to celebrate a birth, a wonderful opportunity to thank God for their arrival, and the best possible start to their life.
During the service your child will be baptized. It's the first step of an amazing journey with God, parents, godparents, friends, family and the church. You don't have to have been christened yourself, and you don't have to have been a regular churchgoer. We would love to discuss the details further we look forward to hearing from you.
What is the difference between Baptism & Christening?
Nothing. They are two words for the same thing.
Do the parents have to be baptised?
No. But the special gift of Baptism isn't just for children, so you might like to be baptised yourself at the same time.
Who can be a Godparent?
Anyone old enough to understand what they are saying can be a godparent. Because they will make the baptism promises for their godchild, they must have been baptised themselves.
What does a baptism cost?
Nothing. Baptism is absolutely free.
Are only babies baptised?
No. Anyone who wants to become a Christian begins by being baptised. If you haven’t been baptised and want to talk about it, please speak to the Vicar.
If you are interested in arranging a baptism, or just want to know more please get in touch with Revd Catrion on 07525920307 or email her at [email protected].
Revd Catriona will arrange to meet with you and your family, talk about why baptism is an important step in life, and will also be able to set a date for the service to take place.
