This is a lunch time gathering for the Benefice of Monks Eleigh whereby we meet on the 3rd THURSDAY of each month at The Chapel during the Winter months.
We aim to share our thoughts on passages from the Bible however during January 2024 and into the new year we plan on using extracts from the book by David Watson on the Holy Spirit.
We bring our own lunches but teas and coffees are provided.

You are most welcome to come and join us and learn and share your thoughts with us.

Thursday 16th November 2023 will be the last 'Food for Thought' for this year. We will continue in 2024 as we have been doing throughout 2023.

At 10.15am on 21st December there will be a service of Holy Communion at St Peters Church Monks Eleigh. The Church will be decked with bows of holly and Christmas carols will be sung throughout the service.
There will be Christmas refreshments afterwards and there are sure to be lots of Christmas fare which will include mince pies.

Just what you have been waiting for - Nine Lessons and Carols with the Benefice Pop up Choir singing some fabulous Christmas songs. Don't miss it.
This is a service where 9 lessons are read which lead up to the birth of Jesus and between each lesson a carol is sing either by the congregation or the choir.
This year the service will be in the lovely medieval Church at Chelsowrth, always so beautifully decorated with flowers and candlelight.
Refreshments follow.
If you enjoy singing Christmas carols, you will enjoy this service and you may even like to help the choir sing some of the high descant notes!

This is when the magic happens. At 3pm on Christmas Eve at Brent Eleigh Church (a fabulous place to have a crib service as the children can be held very safely in the Church stalls) St Mary's Church is a very special Church as it can lend to a feeling of being very much in a stable with the tall stalls.
The story of the birth of Jesus is told by means of a several hand made woollen figures. The vicar invites children to take a figure in turn and place it in the crib at the appropriate part of the story. There will be a crib already prepared to accommodate each figure.
This is a very popular service especially for children and there will be suitable refreshments afterwards.
Parking is available outside the Church.

At 11.30pm on Christmas Eve we will be having our Midnight Holy Communion Service at the lovey Church in Kettlebaston. The Pop up Church Choir will be singing the lovey song 'O Holy Night' as we welcome the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. This is a very reflective and beautiful service in a gorgeous old Church so come and join us for this special of Holy nights.
There will be no refreshments following and parking is ample outside t eh church.

At 10 am on Christmas morning there will be 2 short services - a short family service and then after a break there will be a short Holy Communion service. This will be happening at St Peters Church, Milden.
The acoustics in this church are wonderful so you will enjoy singing or listening to the wonderful Church Pop Up Choir singing their heart out as we celebrate Jesus birth.
There will be no refreshments at this service as everyone will want to get back home to their turkeys or geese or beef or ham roasting in the oven. Enjoy the fellowship with family and friends.

On Sunday 28th December at 10.15am there will be a service of Holy communion at St Mary's Church Brent Eleigh.
