Celebration Service (Corpus Christi)

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Walpole, St Mary the Virgin
Address
Walpole Halesworth, IP19 9AU, United Kingdom

Lead by Rev'd Edmund Smith and Charlotte Remblance. Edmund writes:

You may remember that back in Passiontide, we ran a very special evening service at Heveningham entitled ‘A Service of Peace’. That service aimed to use contemporary music to express the timeless message of Passiontide: that through God’s gift of himself upon the cross, peace is promised to each of us.

On the 7th of June, at 6pm, we are offering a similar service at Walpole. This service reflects on the fact that in the light of Christ’s death, resurrection and ascension, the only adequate response to God is one of praise. The praise we offer to God is not cheap, cliché, or thoughtless. It is a praise borne out through our experiences, and especially out of the painful moments in our lives. We do not praise God in-spite of times of pain in our lives; we praise him precisely because even in our darkest moments he remains faithful to us.

All are warmly welcome to this service, and we especially invite all those who have are wondering whether they are welcome in Church. If you do not know whether Church is for you, or if you doubt whether the Church welcomes you, then this service is especially for you.
