A quiet, said Communion service

We pray together as a community every day at midday, wherever we are, using the same booklet based on the Fransiscan Midday Prayers. For those who are available, we pray together in the Lady Chapel.

At St Luke's, we gather together at 10:30 on a Sunday morning to worship God, reflect on how to follow Jesus today, and to pray for the world. Normally, this is a Communion Service with Sunday School for children aged between Nursery and Year 5, a choir for all those who enjoy singing, and a group for young people aged from Year 6 that meets after the service for lunch. The service lasts for approximately 75 minutes.

On the Second Sunday, our 10:30 service is a shorter Messy Church service for all ages. We use child-friendly songs, and the music is led by one of our bands. The children are encouraged to join in as much as they can with their own instruments, action songs, craft activities, and interactive talks. The service lasts for approximately 45 minutes. There is a quiet Communion service before this at 9:30.

Our fun and lively toddler group meets in the parish hall next to St Luke's Church in Erleigh Road every Wednesday morning during school term time, from 9.15 to 11.15 a.m.
Staffed by volunteers, we welcome all little ones from small babies to toddlers coming up to age 4, with accompanying adult - Parent, Grandparent, Nanny, Minder – do come and join us!
We have lots of toys and activities for babies and toddlers in our spacious hall where they can play safely and grow accustomed to being with other children. For the grown-ups there's the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, and to enjoy a chat and make some new friends.
We ask for just £1 per session for each family/minder group - for this you and your child(ren) enjoy a drink and a biscuit and all our toys and facilities. For the last 20 mins of every meeting we gather in a semi-circle for a session of action songs - this is enjoyed by everyone, young and old alike! We also celebrate one another's birthdays, and have a special Christmas party with entertainment.
