A Message of Hope and Restoration for St Elwyn’s and Hayle

It was announced nationally yesterday by Historic England featured on both Cornwall Live and the BBC that St Elwyn’s Church has received a significant award from the Places of Worship Renewal Fund. This grant is dedicated to the essential renovation and restoration of our beloved church building, addressing the fabric of the structure to repair damage both externally and internally caused by years of exposure to the elements and water ingress.
We are overjoyed and excited, praising God for this gift to us, His abundant generosity, and His goodness and mercy! This is truly amazing and encouraging news not only for the congregation of St Elwyn’s and all our local churches, but for the entire town of Hayle.
Thank you so much to everyone who faithfully prayed and believed this was possible, as well as those who gave their time and energy to help make this funding a reality.
It is our vision that St Elwyn’s will be the church for the people of Hayle, and that its restoration will bring renewed confidence to our town. This is a message from God that He cares for His people and their future, and that He is building His Kingdom here. This financial gift serves as a symbol of hope a sign that Hayle is not overlooked, but a place truly worth investing in.
While there are still many details and questions to be answered, and we are not yet sure of the exact timeline, we hope that work will begin in Spring 2027.
There will be further updates as plans progress. We will be working closely with Historic England, who will release regular news bulletins in the months ahead to keep everyone informed.
Thank you all once again Praise God through whom all blessings flow. Alleluia!
“Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”
