A Taize-style Service

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Hilary
Address
School Lane St Hilary Penzance, TR20 9DQ, United Kingdom

Led by a group of musicians from St Buryan Church, this Taizé-style service will reflect on healing, restoration and the sharing of God’s love in celebration of the Feast of St Luke.

The Taizé Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic community in Taizé, Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy, France, which was founded in 1940 by Brother Roger Schütz, and has become one of the world's most important sites of Christian pilgrimage, attracting over 100,000 young people each year for prayer, Bible study, communal work, and shared reflection. Central to its contemplative atmosphere are simple, meditative chants that support prayer and silence, but there’s no need to know the music beforehand; you can join in as you feel comfortable, or simply listen and pray.

St Hilary

Welcome to St Hilary Church.  We are an open, inclusive church in the modern liberal catholic tradition.

Our lovely building is generally open during the day (from 10.00am - dusk) and visitors are very welcome.  We also offer a warm welcome at our services, which are generally Sundays at 9.30am for a Sung Eucharist and Wednesdays at 10.00am for a Said Eucharist, both of which are followed by refreshments.

Safeguarding

Our parish of St Hilary is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Truro’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Ed Oates ([email protected]) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
