St Peter's Church, Cringleford and Cringleford CEVA primary school joined together to help people pray as part of the Thy Kingdom Come movement. The period between Ascension Day (Thursday, 9 May) and Pentecost (Sunday, 19 May) is used each year to encourage people to pray. Aids to prayer have been set up both inside St Peter's church and in the churchyard.Everyone is very welcome to drop in for a period of quiet reflection and prayer.
The Newfound Community Orchard in Cringleford Heights was formally opened on 3 May. Revd Graham Wilkins commented, 'It was lovely to be with members of the community in this place which will be a blessing to Cringleford for decades to come.' You can find out more about the orchard on the John Innes Centre and Cringleford Parish Council websites.
Continuing an annual tradition of hospitality, St Peter's hosted pilgrims in Holy Week. The pilgrims were on a 120 mile journey from Oxford to Walsingham, organised by Pilgrim Cross. While in Norwich, they visited the city's two cathedrals. They attended Compline in St Peter's, and slept overnight in the church hall. You can read a BBC News item about the pilgrimage here.Image courtesy Pilgrim Cross
