Maundy Thursday (Eucharist with Foot Washing)

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
Barningham Winter: St Mary the Virgin
Address
Barningham Park Matlaske Norwich, NR11 7HY, United Kingdom

We invite you to join us on Maundy Thursday as we continue our journey through Holy Week together. This service, which will be preached by Lucy Dallas, is a beautiful and intimate act of worship that draws us into the events of Jesus's final days with his disciples.

At the heart of this service is one of the simplest yet most profound lessons Jesus ever taught: the washing of feet. In Jesus's time, this was a job reserved for the lowest servant, yet he knelt and washed the dusty feet of his friends as an act of love and humility. It is a powerful reminder that we are called to serve one another, and it is this moment we will recreate together.

Everyone is welcome, exactly as you are. You may feel drawn to come forward and take part in the foot washing, experiencing this act of humility and love for yourself. Or you may prefer to simply watch and reflect from your seat, absorbing the quiet power of the ritual. There is no pressure, no right or wrong way to be with us—just an open invitation to witness and share in this moving act of worship. We would love to see you there.

He is risen!

Join us on Easter Day for a joyful and uplifting service as we celebrate the heart of the Christian faith—the resurrection of Jesus. This is the most special and joyful day in our church calendar, and we would love for you and your family to be part of it.

Our service will be a wonderful opportunity for all ages to come together and share in the incredible story of Easter morning. We'll be exploring what it means that the tomb was found empty and that Jesus is alive, in ways that speak to both young and old. With activities especially planned for children, families are not just welcome—you are at the very heart of our celebration. There will be chances for little ones to engage with the story through craft, colouring, or simple activities, all while staying close to the main service.

Whether you are a regular visitor, returning to church after a long time, or simply curious about what Easter really means, you will find a warm welcome. Come and share in the joy, the hope, and the wonder of this most holy day. Together, we will discover that Easter is not just a story from long ago, but good news for us all, right here and right now. We can't wait to celebrate with you.

He is risen Indeed!
