We are delighted to be celebrating Mothering Sunday this year with two special services across our benefice. Whether you join us at Edgefield Church or at Plumstead Church, both services begin at 10:30am, and you can expect a warm welcome and a service designed to bring the whole community together.

This is a day when we think beyond simply 'mothers' and celebrate 'mothering' in all its forms. It's about showing appreciation for all who care for others—whether that's mums, grandmas, aunties, godparents, teachers, or friends. We will be giving thanks for the special people who nurture and guide our children and young people, and for the many different kinds of families we represent. Children are especially welcome at both services, and we hope families will come along to share in this joyful and inclusive celebration as we honour the special mother-figures in our lives.

Barningham Winter: St Mary the Virgin

Nestled in the gently undulating rural landscape of North Norfolk anyone spying the ruinous tower of St. Mary’s Barningham Winter would be justified in thinking that there was a romantic ruin which by luck more than design has survived. This could not be further from the truth. Come and see for yourself...
