The Vigil & First Mass of Easter

Occurring
for 1 hour, 45 mins
Venue
St Ives: All Saints
Address
Church Street St Ives Cambridge / Peterborough, PE27 6DG, United Kingdom

In this Holy Saturday service, we start by lighting a new fire and preparing the year's Pascal candle as a symbol of God's light, even in dark times. As we watch, as if by the tomb of Jesus, we read scripture together by candlelight, reminding us of all the history of God's people leading us to the moment of his resurrection. Finally we celebrate Christ bursting from the tomb with music, light and the first Eucharist of Easter - living full of the Holy Spirit and the joy of Christ's Resurrection.
