In a packed and joyful service James was ordained Deacon by the Bishop of Blackburn to serve as Curate in the Benefice of Foulridge, Laneshawbridge and Trawden, three parishes on the edge of Colne. 

James has worked for the ambulance service as a paramedic for over 25 years. After an unexpected encounter with the Holy Spirit in 2019 he felt called to the Priesthood. He undertook his theological training at St. Hild's College of the Resurrection in Mirfield. James is married to Helen, and they have a daughter, Laura.
