On Tuesday 12 September the annual crab supper, including a boat trip to see the seals on Blakeney Point, was held to raise funds for All Saints, Morston. This year it was an extra special occasion, in memory of Mary, who had organised this event since it started. Following a glorious week of non-stop sun and high temperatures, on Tuesday evening the heavens opened. Despite this some 40+ people braved the elements and were rewarded with a lively boat trip to say the least. They were joined by a further 25 people in the village hall afterwards for a delicious supper. Phil Athill spoke a few words about how his mother would have been amused by the weather and the Rev Ian Whittle provided a suitable toast to dear Mary.

Unfortunately crabs were in short supply for supper and had to be replaced with lobster but, unsurprisingly, nobody complained. Lobster and salads were followed by a huge array of puddings of all descriptions. The earlier drenching was soon forgotten, the wine flowed and a very jolly evening was had by all.

The PCC would like to thank all those that contributed to the evening by attending the event as well as those providing the supper and especially to the boatmen for the boat trip, provided with great humour as usual despite the weather.
