This was led by the Rev Ian Whittle, assisted by Dr Roger Bland and with Mr Peaver on the harmonium. Nearly 50 people from across the Benefice and further afield attended. Amongst the congregation were many with hearty voices so the hymns and the relevant parts of the service were sung with gusto.
Pimms and soft drinks were served after the service giving many a chance to catch up with members from other parishes and benefices. Many thanks to those that arranged this special service and to those that came along – it was decided that next time it would be billed as ‘Hymns and Pimms’.
