Following a dramatic summer storm overnight the 14th June turned into a wonderful sunny day for our summer fayre. The churchyard was decked out with stalls under colourful gazebos and there was plenty to keep old and young alike entertained. The barbecue, refreshments and Renaldo’s ice creams were as popular as ever keeping us fed and watered. There was music from the newly formed Little Melton record group and friends and plenty of activity on the stalls and games. The plant stall was overflowing with donated plants and those left were available for further donations by the lych gate after the event. The highlight was the zip-wiring teddies. There was no risk of them getting stuck in trees or taken off in the breeze this year as they were all safely harnessed and sported suitable safety equipment. Judging was made on the safety equipment worn by the teddies and prizes, donated by Hammond Stratford Estate Agents, were awarded for the best designs. It was a delightful afternoon which raised over £1250 for the church repair fund. We wish to thank all of you who contributed in any way whether with donations, help on the day or just being there, without you, we could not have done it. Thank you
