Traditionally, advent calendars are used to count down the days of Advent in the run up to Christmas and comprise a series of doors or windows to open, revealing a picture, small chocolate or little gift for each day. The reverse advent calendar turns this trend on its head. Instead of receiving a gift, those taking part in a reverse calendar donate an item each day. Would you like to join in? Grab a cardboard box and start to fill it!

Once again we are encouraging people to fill a box this Advent with the following items: Coffee; tea; biscuits; chocolate; long life milk; cereals; tinned vegetables; tinned soup / meat; pasta / rice. Toiletries; toilet rolls. New men’s / women’s underwear; gloves and warm hats. These Reverse Advent Calendars will then be used to support ‘Abingdon Area Helping Oxfordshire Homeless’ throughout the year.
