Elaine Palmer Headlined the concert on Friday 2nd October .
The concert started with the talented Maggie May Treanor who performed her own material supported by Steve on guitar. With one song she evoked the tones of Emmylou Harris, next the next Lynda Ronstadt and much more, all too soon the interval arrived.
The White Swan provided a refreshment bar that was much appreciated.
Then Elaine Palmer, ably accompanied by Andrew Pipe on guitar performed a variety of songs from her extensive catalogue of albums. Elaine had the audience fascinated with her tales of growing up at Esk Mill in Danby on the North Yorkshire moors; and her current time split between Yorkshire and Arizona. Her current album is 'Some Seek Silver, Some Seek Gold.
Andrew from Guisborough treated us to stunning guitar solos that helped to make this a special and memorable evening. The audience of around seventy people were delighted with the quality of the musicians; and the whole event was a big success. It also raised £572 for the Danby Wiske Church Building Preservation Fund.
Feedback received included "It was a brilliant night , Maggie and Elaine were just fantastic. It was a privilege to have these two very talented ladies and their guitarists in our little church . Thank you for introducing me to a new genre of music that I’ve not really discovered before , I must admit I’m a tiny bit hooked now ."
