Dear All,

Church Building Repairs  Fundraising Appeal

Well that's it for this particular appeal. I had hoped to raise £1,000 or so but with funds continually coming in, ultimately my goal became a staggering £8,000.

With Gift-aid added and allowing for some deducted costs relating to the Crowdfunder platform am reckoning that the final amount raised will be in the region of £9,000 and with a number of non-crowdfunding donations to add, this becomes £10,000. Its truly overwhelming.

In terms of the overall push to raise the £40,000 needed for the roof repairs, I also have manged to get cover for the VAT and District Council funding pledges for the 22/23 year. So far, we have only one grant funding body that has committed (thank you Allchurches Trust) but a number of others are cogitating over the next 8-12 weeks so hopefully that will grow more.

Finally the church has committed £4,000 from its savings (2/3 of its financial assets).

All in all that adds up to a bit over £28,000 in total to date. So.... Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

In terms of my Chemo - I am just over 1/2 way through and should find out by late Jan if its working or not. 3 doses yet to go, the next in a fortnight. Days 3/4/5 after the dose are the worst but by the end of the first week post-dose things are improving. Am hoping things stay that way. Thanks to everyone that has sent messages of support. With my friends, family and this level of support backing me all the way, I feel incredibly strengthened.
