Stockerston: St Peter

Welcome to St Peter's Church Stockerston. Our small village of Stockerston is located in the county of Leicestershire, England. The village is situated on the eastern side of the county, close to the border with Rutland. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with rolling hills and fields of crops.

Stockerston has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Bronze Age. The village was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and has been inhabited ever since. St. Peter's Church is a Grade I listed building, and is situated on the north side of Church Lane, close to Stockerston Hall. The present structure was largely built in the 13th to 15th centuries.

Stockerston is a charming and picturesque village, with a rich history and a strong sense of community. Do come and visit us!

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Rachael Spiers (see link below). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
