Sunday 22nd June 2025

This Sunday, we meet a man who’s lost everything—even his name. He lives among tombs, unclothed, tormented, and untouchable. The Gospel tells us he’s called Legion—a title, not an identity. But Jesus crosses the sea to reach him, and with a word, restores not just his mind but his place in the world.

It's one of the strangest, most powerful stories in Scripture. And oddly enough, it’s not the demons that frighten the townspeople—it’s the healing. Real change often unsettles the systems we’ve learned to live with.

The man, once cast out, becomes a witness. No training, no scrolls—just his story. Sometimes that’s all God asks of us: to be still enough, sane enough, present enough to point to hope.

Perhaps you know someone who feels like that man—adrift, misunderstood, forgotten. Maybe you’ve felt that way yourself. If so, come. And bring them with you. Jesus still crosses seas to find the lost, and still makes a home for those who’ve lived too long among the tombs.

Yours in hope, Mark
