Sunday 29th June & Sunday 6th July
These midyear Sundays, set deep in Trinity season, invite us into the long obedience of growth—steady, unhurried and quietly transforming.
On Sunday 29th June, Revd. Suzanne will be preaching from Acts 12:1–11. In this dramatic account of Peter’s imprisonment and miraculous escape, we see the power of God at work even in the darkest circumstances. Peter’s rescue is not just a personal deliverance—it is a sign that nothing can hinder the mission of the Church. Through fear and uncertainty, God continues to act, reminding us that the Church is not sustained by human strength, but by God’s faithful presence.
On Sunday 6th July, Revd. Mark will preach on 2 Kings 5:1–14—the story of Naaman. A mighty commander, honoured and victorious, yet bearing a hidden affliction. Healing comes not through kings or silver or spectacle, but through the voice of a servant girl—and a descent into the waters of the Jordan. This is a story about power brought low, and grace that offends before it restores. About the kind of healing that comes not through striving, but surrender. The muddy river still flows. The Spirit still calls. Go, wash, and be healed.
There will also be a traditional BCP Communion at 8.00am on 6th July for those who would like to begin the day in quiet worship.
